How Do You Reinstall Internet Explorer 6 SP1?
Internet Explorer 6 was released in 2001, along with the Windows XP operating system. Internet Explorer remains the most widely used web browser–with version 6 making up a large percentage of that. If you’ve tried the later versions of Internet Explorer and haven’t been happy or you simply need to reinstall version 6 due to complications, the process is fairly simple. Microsoft still provides the Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 for download. Visit the Microsoft Download Center and download the Internet Explorer SP1 installer (see Resources). Save the file to your desktop. Double-click the downloaded “ie6setup.exe” file. This will launch the Internet Explorer 6 installer. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. It should only take a few minutes. Restart the computer. Because of Internet Explorer 6’s deep integration with the operating system, it is important to restart the computer before using the newly reinstalled web browser.
