How Do You Reinstall Internet Explorer 6 In Windows 2000 Pro?
Windows 2000 Professional came with Internet Explorer 5. After Microsoft introduced Internet Explorer 6, the version was downloadable from Microsoft’s website. To reinstall this version of Internet Explorer on your computer, make sure the PC has at least 32 MB of RAM and 12 MB free on the hard disk. Go to Microsoft’s website for downloading IE 6. You can find the link to the website in Resources below. Click the “Download” button after you open the page from Resources below. Click the “Download” button when the web page opens. Click “Open” to save the setup file in the “Temporary Internet files” folder. Upon clicking “Open,” a file called e6setup.exe will start downloading to your computer. Double-click the downloaded setup file to execute it and follow the installation instructions. Custom installation isn’t available for IE 6 on Windows 2000, so click “Next” on each installation step. Reboot your PC after the software installs.
