Soap Box Car rallies are typically geared towards children. In fact, the majority of the participants are youths and young adults under the age of 17. That doesn’t mean that adults can’t enjoy the sport! There are several major soap box derby car rally circuits open to adults, a number of which are affiliated with All American Soap Box Derby and other major circuits. Anyone who is still a kid at heart is welcome to register in a rally. Decide on the rally you plan on entering. There are hundreds of rallies around the country each year. The larger ones tend to be located in major urban centers. There are numerous smaller soap box derby clubs that offer rallies for adults on a more local level as well. Register for the rally of your choice far ahead of schedule. Many rallies fill quickly, particularly as you get closer to the meet time. Registration is usually available 90 days or more in advance.
