How Do You Refinish An Oven With Stainless Steel Paint?
Do you have an old oven in your kitchen that works great but just doesn’t look that good? New appliances can cost thousands of dollars, and why buy new when your old appliances work just fine? You can paint your old oven to look just like a brand new stainless steel appliance in one afternoon. Step 1 Move your oven outside onto a drop cloth. Spray paint has a tendency to travel. If you use spray paint in your home you run the risk of getting paint on everything in the room. Step 2 Thoroughly clean the exterior of the appliance using a degreasing cleaner. Do not short cut this step. Kitchen ovens are subjected to numerous cooking greases and the oils from your fingers. Any grime left behind will not allow the epoxy to bond with the appliance surface. Step 3 Remove handles and hardware. Cover any areas that you do not want painted with tape and newspaper. Remember, spray paint travels so cover anything you don’t want painted. Step 4 Sand the surface of the oven with fine-grit sandpaper.
