How Do You Refinish A Fiberglass Shower?
Refinishing a fiberglass shower can give a quick makeover to a dull and drab bathroom. A little epoxy paint can shine up the existing look or offer a complete color change. A little sanding, painting and a healthy respect for the powerful fumes from epoxy paint are all you need to handle this home improvement project. Clean the fiberglass shower stall and tray with a mild bathroom cleaner. Dry the fiberglass with paper towels. Use the screwdriver or putty knife to remove all of the old caulking. Place the pieces on paper towels in the shower tray, wrap them up and discard. Sand the fiberglass using fine-grain sandpaper. Place the NIOSH grade respirator mask on and wipe the sanded surface with a sponge soaked in TSP cleaner. These masks are available at most home improvement centers.
