Wear a compression garment constantly for one week, without taking it off. Do not have a shower or a bath, use a small damp towel to wash yourself- but dont take off the compression garment. After the first week you may take garment off for a hour or so to wash garmet/shower. To reduce the swelling drink heaps of water and you could try ice packs, but remember that swelling is the bodies natural response to damage and serves a purpose. The swelling actually helps to hold the skin in place so that the skin can reduce to the new shape at a normal a healthy rate so that excess skin is minimal.
