How Do You Recycle Plastic Milk Jugs?
Recycling plastic milk jugs is one of the the easiest ways to reuse the items many of us consume on a daily or weekly basis. Not only can you save money on storage containers, plant stakes or scoops, but you’ll also be helping to reduce what ends up in our landfills. Here are a few eco-friendly ideas for recycling both the 1/2 gallon and gallon size plastic milk jugs. Thoroughly wash and dry any milk jug you are intending to recycle or reuse. Use uncut 1/2 gallon or gallon size milk jugs to store dry foods (beans, cat food, etc.) Use standard household utility scissors to cut your milk jugs into separate items. The top “half” with the handle can be used as a scoop or funnel. If using as a scoop, glue the lid before use to prevent spills. If using as a funnel, a cheesecloth or paper coffee filter can be used to act as a filter.
