How Do You Recycle A Water Storage Tank Into A Well House?
When your plastic farm water storage tank starts leaking or is no longer useful, recycle it. Make a water well shelter. You can’t burn it in most areas and it wastes landfill space. Plan the size of the openings. Measure the height and width of the equiment you want to enclose. I used a 300 gal. tank about 5′ tall by 4′ wide. It covered the pressure tank, piping, filters and electrical box of my water well. The bottom of the tank will be mostly removed but the door should be as small as possible. I lifted mine up to clear the pressure tank with the top of the door. Turn the tank on it’s side and using a felt tip pin, draw an outline of the door. Don’t let it overlap compound curves. The best door resembles a rectangular shield. The smaller the door, the stronger and more rigid your well house will be. Use the jigsaw to cut out the door.
