One of the great features of Microsoft Windows is how simple it is to open programs and files. However, every once in a while an issue can come up which blocks the user from opening the file. A problem may be encountered when the file is encrypted. A file can be encrypted a number of different ways, one by an application of EFS, or Encryption File Service, to encrypt a file. This will lock down the file, not allowing it to be opened. There is a way, though, to remove the locks and recover the content of the file. Download “Unlocker” by following the the link provided in the Resources section at the bottom of the page. Click “Download Unlocker 1.8.7” and then click “Save File” when asked if you would like to save the file. Double click the newly downloaded file. It will appear in either a “Downloads” pop-up window or as an icon on the desktop. Click “OK” and then “Run” when asked if you would like to run the program.
