I have that same VCR, but have Shaw Direct, so the principal is the same. You would connect RF or A/V from the VCR to the TV, and A/V or RF from the satellite receiver to the VCR. To record direct, you select channel 3 or “L” (you channel down to get that one; it is below channel 2), select the channel on the satellite box,the press record on the VCR or Record and Play on its remote. To timer record, you set an event timer on your receiver to change to the channel you want to record at the time, and the VCR timer to record at that time and length on the input the box is connected to (Line or Ch 3). To enable timer mode, press the timer button on the remote.

well this is how you should record A show is to first make sure that you have A tape in the VCR then you set A program that you want to record but if it doesn’t record after you do all what me or who ever helps you out then you should read the directions that came with your VCR to help you out
