How Do You Record From Tivo?
TiVo changed the way people record television programs when they released the first Digital Video Recorder (DVR) in 1997. TiVo can store and play many hours of programming on its hard drive, but those programs can only be watched on a TV connected to the TiVo DVR. There are, however, ways to connect other devices to the TiVo to record those programs onto another media. Determine the connection inputs available on the DVD recorder or VCR you will be using. These will likely be the three-prong (red, white and yellow) composite RCA or S-video (single, round multi-pinned cable). Purchase the appropriate cable if necessary. Connect that cable from an output on the back of the TiVo DVR to the input on the DVD recorder or VCR. Connect a separate video cable (coaxial, composite, component or HDMI) from another output on the DVR to an input on the TV, based on what connections are available to your particular DVR and TV. If you also have a home theater stereo receiver with HDMI or component inp
