How Do You Record Cassette Tapes To CD Quality?
It seems that every time an advance in technology occurs, it renders something obsolete. With everything going digital these days, your old cassette tapes aren’t much use–unless you can convert them to CDs. If you have cassettes that you’d like to better utilize and protect against the ravages of time, your best bet is to convert them to digital media. Here’s how. Make a connection between your cassette player and your computer using the RCA cables. Plug the cables into the “Line Out” jacks (left and right) on your cassette player. Plug the other end into the “Line In” jacks on your computer soundcard. These may be jacks of a different (non-RCA) configuration, so an adapter will be necessary. Those will most often be 1/8-inch jacks. Adapters are inexpensive and readily available at Radio Shack.
