Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) is a mini-stroke. People who have a TIA are about 1/3 more likely to experience an actual stroke. It is important to recognize symptoms and get to the doctor immediately. This is an emergency. Brain cells begin to die immediately. If you have any of these symptoms, move quickly. Here is what you should look for. Step 1 Trouble speaking, understanding or sudden confusion. Step 2 The inability to see in one or both eyes. Step 3 Dizziness or confusion that comes on suddenly. Step 4 The loss of coordination or balance. Step 5 Weakness or numbness on one side of the body.
