How Do You Recognize Muscle Dysmorphia?

0

Sometimes referred to as “bigorexia” it is known as basically the opposite of anorexia. In this situation a person believes that they are too thin and weak, or, often, they believe they are not muscular enough. Those with the “adonis complex” believe, no matter how much they work out, that they are simply too skinny and weak. They believe that they have a low muscle mass and are obsessed with achieving what they believe would be perfect. It seems to occur more often in men than in women. They constantly examine themselves in the mirror and hate what they see. They often compare their bodies to others. They become very irritable it they miss a workout or one of their meals. Become irritable if they don’t get enough protien in their diet. Take steroids. Start to neglect family, work, and other important things to exercise. Honestly think they are underweight, very weak, abnormally low muscle mass, etc. Symptoms above are accompanied by depression.
