How Do You Receive Free Treatment For Osteogenesis Imperfecta?
Has your child been diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta – (brittle bones)? If so, they may qualify for free treatment. Here’s how: Contact The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center to sign your child up as a participant in the free Osteogenesis Imperfecta study. Your child must be at least 2 yrs – 16 yrs old. Allow your child’s medical records to be evaluated to confirm history of Osteogenesis Imperfecta and to determine which protocol of OI your child will be placed. This screening and evaluation will be based on history and physical, parental interviews, medical records and assessment of spine and lower extremity x-rays. Bring your child to the study clinic for follow up every 3 months. During the follow up visits your child will receive the following treatments: Pamidronate by I.V. infusion, along with x-rays, blood work and a physical exam.
