How Do You Reboot A Compaq Computer?
Having to reboot your Compaq computer is an inevitability. There are several reasons you might have to do so; software is usually the culprit. Other reasons include not picking up a signal through the wireless modem; Internet Explorer constantly crashing; or some other third-party faux pas. Hardware is virtually never the issue. If the Compaq’s hardware has gone bad, a system reboot will not fix the issue. Click on the “Start” button on the taskbar. Select the right arrow in Vista or click “Turn off computer” for other Windows operating systems. Select “Restart.” Press the “Ctr,” “Alt” and “Del” keys simultaneously, twice. This will reboot the computer. Press and hold the power button for about 3 to 5 seconds. The computer will shut down. Turn the computer back on. Sometimes, this is a better way to reboot. Shutting the computer off and waiting 45 seconds allows the capacitors to discharge and the memory to fully flush. This process allows for a cleaner boot. Disconnect the power cord.
