How Do You Read The Musical Staff- Treble Clef?
Below are the basic steps to learning how to read the Treble Clef staff. Learning how to read music is really quite simple. To learn how to read the Bass Clef, and to learn more about piano or voice please check out my other articles! The staff has 5 lines and 4 spaces. When counting the lines and spaces begin from the bottom and count upward. The spaces of the Treble Clef spell the word FACE. So, the bottom space would be F and so on upward. The lines of the Treble Clef use an anagram. The lines are EGBDF. I teach my students Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge or Elvis’ Guitar Broke Down Friday. So, the bottom line would be E. When you start from the bottom line and count every line and space, you simply follow the musical alphabet. The musical alphabet is ABCDEFG. When you get to G, you simply start over with A. The bottom line is E, so you have EFGABCDEFG going from the bottom to the top of the staff.
