How Do You Read Tab Sheet Music?
Reading tab sheet music is a fairly simple process, but it may feel like a daunting task for a new guitar player, especially if you are already overwhelmed with learning the basics like scales, chords and finger position. However, learning to read tablature will not only help you increase your skills as a guitarist, but the knowledge will also increase your enjoyment of playing as you start to play songs that you like. As with most things, learning the fundamentals is more fun when you are working toward a goal. Learn the basic setup of tablature paper and notation. In tablature, there is a staff of however many lines there are strings on the instrument the tablature was written for. In the case of guitar tablature, the most common type of tablature, there would be six lines indicating six strings. The high E or 1st string is shown at the top of the staff, while the low E or 6th string is at the bottom of the staff. Tablature does not show any sort of rhythmic notation or time signatur
