While it is certainly important to know these mnemonic devices, and to recognize notes quickly, it is very important to learn how to read music by intervals, rather than struggling to name each note. Stated another way, you want to try to quickly break the habit of using the mnemonic devices to name each note, and start thinking about how each note is related to the note before it.
