How Do You Read An Xbox Hard Drive?
A new feature of video game consoles allows you to add an external hard drive, meaning you can vastly expand storage space. When your internal XBox hard drive fills to capacity, you can save downloaded files and game information on the external drive. Any type of external hard drive will do, as long as it can connect to both your computer and your XBox via a USB port. Connect the hard drive to your computer with a USB link cable. This works for both Macs and PCs. Double click the “My Computer” icon on your PC desktop. Locate the icon that represents your External Hard Drive. With a Mac, the hard drive icon will automatically appear on the desktop. Right click on the External Hard Drive icon. Select the option that reads “Format” from the drop-down menu. This will bring up a utility that will allow you to format the hard drive. Select “FAT32” from the drop-down menu. That format makes the hard drive compatible with the XBox 360.
