How Do You Read Action Research Projects?
Action research is a a process of studying an issue in an educational setting. The researcher first identifies a problem in the setting, defines the problem and determines how to collect relevant data. Next, the researcher gathers the data, interprets the results and decides upon further action. Read the overview and background first. These sections give you the basic information that help you to identify the research question being addressed in the project, as well as the demographics of the population. Read the definitions of the construct, or research question. This provides the reader with insight into how the author views this question, and what it is about. Examine the conceptual models and visual aids. These models show the connections between the main construct and factors possibly affecting the outcomes.
