How do you react to believe in many quarters that the government of President Umaru YarAdua is slow?
If that is the feelers you are getting from the public, I think we need to look at it differently, to see areas of improvement as soon as possible. One thing is very clear. Whatever that happens, this government is committed to its vision of improving the power sector. We should put all the politics behind. This power sector must be fixed very quickly. When that is done, Nigerians will get what they expect. Many support the government because of the personality of Yar’Adua. He is not a controversial person. We need to capitalize on that goodwill before it fades out. The power sector must stand to function. I know they have taken some steps in the last four weeks to increase the voltage substantially. The gas pipeline should start moving so that they can start the turbine. I am aware that money has been released for one of the hydro-dams. We do have to realise, on the other side too, that some of these things take a longer time. Installing a power plant is not a matter that can be done
