How Do You Re-Grout Tile On A Counter?
Tiled counter tops are very classy looking until the grout joints get stained or begin to loosen. You can save the expense of replacing the counter with just a little work. Re-grout the tile on your counter by following the steps and tips below. Cover any exposed air vents and sink drains before you start to keep grout particles out. Wipe the counter top tiles clean with a damp cloth. Gouge out the old grout with a wire or other stiff bristle brush or use a hand grout saw or a grout-removal attachment on a cordless rotary tool. You don’t have to remove all the old grout, just make sure to take it down an eighth of an inch below the top of the tile, removing all loose sections completely. Vacuum and wipe up any particles and dust you have created. Use a one to one mixture of white vinegar and hot water to remove any left-over stains or deposits. Wipe it again with a damp sponge until the counter is nice and clean and let it dry. Mix your new grout. Use grout that contains latex additive
