Raising boys as a single mom has its challenges (to say the least). Although, we are all human, the differences between girls and boys pose some unique challenges for those rearing them. And in the case of moms raising boys, these differences can be colossal. There are always exceptions to the rules, but the following guidelines should help steer you in the right direction. LEARN THE ROPES. If you weren’t raised with males and know little about them; learn. Read, join a single’s support group and watch male oriented movies and TV shows. Boys have the same basic needs and desires (love, security, fun) as girls, but they go about fulfilling them in different ways. You may not get their behavior, but understand what makes them tick.
