The Civilian Service in Vietnam Medal is awarded to civilians who worked in Vietnam. You may apply for this award if you are the recipient, a family member of a recipient or an estate inheritor. Provide an unaltered copy of your employment records (usually a form DD-214) documenting your employment in Vietnam. Your records must show a total of one year of service (not necessarily continuous) in Vietnam any time between Jan. 1, 1962 and April 30, 1975, while employed by any agency under the United States Department of State.
