How Do You Qualify For A Civilian Service In Vietnam Medal?
The Civilian Service in Vietnam Medal is awarded to civilians who worked in Vietnam. You may apply for this award if you are the recipient, a family member of a recipient or an estate inheritor. Provide an unaltered copy of your employment records (usually a form DD-214) documenting your employment in Vietnam. Your records must show a total of one year of service (not necessarily continuous) in Vietnam any time between Jan. 1, 1962 and April 30, 1975, while employed by any agency under the United States Department of State. Fill out the application form online (see Resources below). Use the name you had during your employment in Vietnam even if it has changed. Pay by debit card, credit card, check (personal, business, bank or cashier’s) or money order and indicate the payment method on the application form.
