How Do You Qualify For A Cal Grant?

0

A. There are three components in determining Cal Grant eligibility: income, assets and academics. In order to qualify for the Cal Grant A (the maximum award) your income must not exceed the ceiling. This income ceiling varies with the size of the family. For a family of two the ceiling is currently $65,800. For a family of six or more the ceiling is $84,600. The income calculation includes the parents’ Adjusted Gross Income plus any untaxed income like 401k contributions or child support minus several credits (for a limited number of families).
