What they don’t tell you at the store when you buy a bed frame is that you must put it together. This is an easy step by step “how to” put together a metal bed frame. The first step to putting together your new metal bed frame is to take it out of the box or if it is not boxed make sure you have all of the parts. It is usually a good idea to make sure you have all of the legs before starting assembly. Next place the frame on the floor in the direction you wish it to face. The bolt plate goes at the top of the frame, where you want your head to be. Now that you have your frame facing where you want it, attach the top and bottom supports. On older frames you will need a “c” clamp to connect the pieces to each other. Finally, attach the feet to the bottom of the frame. Note that some frames still use rollers instead of glides. If you are using your frame on hardwood floors it is a good idea to use pads underneath the feet.
