How Do You Put The COMMON Back Into “Common Courtesy”?

0

Once upon a time there was such a thing as “common” courtesy. Seeing these words together in this day and age is more of a conundrum, or contradiction in terms, than anything else. Let’s try to be kind and considerate of others with whom we share our day and try to make a difference in our world. It’s not “someone else’s” job–it is the combined effort of all of us that brings about a positive change in society. If someone is new to the company or neighborhood, introduce yourself and offer to assist them however they may need. Be sincere, give a little personal history, and make the newcomer feel welcome. Bring a basket of goodies, if it’s a new neighbor. THINKING of someone else already shows you can be courteous. Display this in your every-day actions, such as holding open the door or opening a car door for someone. PUTTING gadgets or food items BACK where you found them is a nice gesture. Everything should have its own home; if you take it out, please be courteous and put it back so
