The T9 text entry mode allows users to type a word by pressing each letter only once. Each of the keys part of the phone’s numeric pad corresponds to two or more letters. The T9 tool compares word entries in progress against an internal dictionary. It determines the correct word and completes it, requiring users to make fewer keystrokes than they would if using ABC entry mode. T9 disabled mode is the default setting on the LG Shine cell phone.
