How Do You Put Line On Spinning Reels?

0

Spooling reels with line is very important to fishermen. It can mean the difference between line breaking off and losing a fish and being able to pull in that winning beauty. Incorrectly spooled line can cause tangles and create a bird’s nest on the reel which will cause a host of other complications. Remove any existing or old line from the reel. Take the new spool out of the box. Set up a small bowl and fill it up halfway with water. Get a pencil and poke a hole through the center of your new spool of line. Stick the pencil through the hole so the spool can spin on it. Place the pencil and spool in the bowl of water. Pull the end of the line out of the spool. String it through the bottom eye on the rod. Then push the line through the inside of the reel and back out the other side. Wrap the line around the reel two times and tie in a double knot. Cut off the excess line on the end, known as the tag line. Tighten the drag as much as you can. Hold the line between your thumb and pointer
