How Do You Put a Fishing Line on a Baitcast Reel?
A baitcast reel is a very common, popular style of reel in which the spool of fishing line faces the tip of the reel, so that when it is unwound it unwinds away from the caster. This allows the fishing line to move more freely, as opposed to older version in which the spool was held vertically. With a horizontal spool, the caster can cast a line longer and more accurately without worrying as much about getting the line tangled or caught near the reel.Removing Old LineYour first step is to remove the old line. All the line should be stripped from the reel, and the knot should be cleanly and carefully cut–the goal is avoid making any chips, dents or cuts on the core of the reel, so using a knife is not wise. Fingernail clippers or small scissors work best. Once all the line is gone, give the reel a quick inspection to make sure there are no signs of damage and that everything is function correctly. Clean the reel and lubricate it lightly with an industrial oil.Replacing with New LineWit
