How Do You Put A Bike Rack On A Car?
The type of bike rack most often used with cars or four-door sedans is the trunk-mount bike rack, also called a bike-trunk carrier. This type of bike rack attaches to the trunk and car frame using straps and hooks. A trunk-mount bike rack usually holds one to three bikes. Step 1 Set the bike rack on the car. Depending on your bike rack model, the frame might rest with one or two legs on top of the trunk and/or on the back of the car by the license plate. Any area that touches the car is typically padded with foam or rubber to protect the car and finish. Step 2 Slide the hooks, located at the end of the two upper straps, into the crease or edge of the trunk. Step 3 Secure the lower two straps by attaching the hooks to the bottom edge of the trunk or onto the metal ledge of the bumper.
