How do you prune or train a rubber tree plant to keep it compact?

0

My rubber tree is 37 years old and keeping it compact and healthy has been a challenge. As an indoor plant, a rubber tree left unattended will grow too large and tend to have a sprawling affect, proper pruning is recommended to keep the tree at a comfortable size and to promote new growth. Pruning a rubber tree is like another woody plant. Trim the branch just above a leaf or at the point were another branch splits off. This will keep the plant compact as well as promote new growth just above were the cut was made.
