Hydrangea paniculata grandiflora, or PeeGee hydrangea, is a white-blooming shrub that flowers in the summer. Unlike French hydrangea, which has globe-shaped flower heads, hydrangea paniculata shrubs have panicles, cone-shaped blooms that taper to a point that hangs slightly downward. Panicle hydrangea should be pruned in the fall, early winter or early spring after blooming has finished for the season.
