Ants are pesky little creatures that can ruin your grounds if they’re allowed to run wild. Follow these steps to protect your lawn from ants and anthills. Locate an ant mound. Do not disturb the mound. The ants will move their queen to safety, rendering any treatment useless. Soak the mound in a liquid such as Demon EC in the midmorning hours. Use one gallon of the liquid for each foot of the mound’s diameter. Apply granules such as Talstar granules over the entire mound. Spot treatment will be ineffective. Water the area you treated in Step 3.
