A works cited page comes at the end of a research paper. Students typically start writing them in middle school, and they are a requirement for research papers in high school and college. The works cited page lists all of the resources used to write the paper. It lists the book, magazine, paper or website, as well as who authored the articles or studies. It is very important to get it correct, as it is the information that backs up the research in your paper. Begin the works cited page on a new page, directly following the last page of your paper. Put the title “Works Cited” in the middle of the page, capped but with no quotation marks. List your resources in alphabetical order according to the last name of the author.
