How do you properly feed a Baby Garter Snake?
Garter snakes DO NOT eat crickets. I don’t know how many hundreds of times I’ve seen this poor piece of misinformation given. And they almost never eat rodents in the wild, but they can be tricked into eating them by rubbing fish slime on them. They eat fish and frogs, and occasionally worms. Go to the pet store and buy rosey red minnows or catch some minnows with a dip net and put them in its water dish. Rosey reds are easy because they can survive without a water pump, unlike wild minnows. Don’t feed them goldfish, since they are bad for reptiles in more ways than one.
