How Do You Properly Care For Chinchillas?
This is how to properly take care of your chinchilla. I seen an article on here and I was astounded by how WRONG it was. I am a breeder and I know what I’m talking about. The wire of your cage should be 1″x1/2″ (For kits OR adults) and no bigger than 1″x1″ (For adults ONLY!) Cages should have a solid bottom, not wire. Cages should not be put in sunlight or near drafty places. Try to keep the cage in one place, as moving it around too much can cause stress. Bedding should only be pine, if clean of chemicals and oils, aspen or carefresh. Never use cedar. It can cause respiratory infections and death. Never line it with newspaper either.
