Fill a large container with a mixture of half commercial potting soil and half coarse sand. Any container is fine as long as it has adequate drainage. Set the container aside while you prepare the mandevilla stem cuttings. Cut a 4-to-6 inch tip from a healthy mandevilla stem. Use a sharp knife or pruners that have been wiped with rubbing alcohol to remove any bacteria. Take three or four cuttings in case some of them don’t root successfully.
