How Do You Program The Keyless Remote On A Chevy?
Keyless entry is one of the options that is standard on most Chevrolet vehicles. There are several parts on the remote that can go wrong and cause the transponders to not work. One of the most common is the remote battery dies. When the battery dies, the remote ceases to work; and when the battery is replaced, the remote needs to be reprogrammed. The process for reprogramming the remote can be very easy on a Chevrolet. Make sure all the doors are closed. The trunk needs to be closed as well. Press and hold the “Lock” and “Unlock” buttons on one remote. Make sure the doors are not locked. Wait for the door locks to cycle, i.e., lock then unlock. If the doors are locked, the remotes will not cycle the door locks. Release the buttons. Test the remote to make sure it works. Repeat Steps 2, 3 and 4 for all remotes. Exit the vehicle and test all remotes.
