How Do You Program Motorola Walkie Talkies?
Motorola Family Radio Service (FRS) walkie-talkies can be programmed with codes—to eliminate interference from other users. Think carefully before you program any codes into your Motorola walkie-talkie because walkie-talkies can’t communicate with each other if they are programmed with different codes. That’s okay if you are programming a batch—say for your family or group, but if you intend to talk with other parties on FRS frequencies, like neighborhood disaster groups for example, codes will prevent that happening. Press the Menu button. The label “Code’ will appear on the read-out. Press the plus, up or negative, down button to choose a interference eliminator code. It can be any code, but it needs to be the same on all the radios you want to talk to. Press the Push-to-talk (PTT) button to enter the code. Program a call tone.
