An analog to digital converter box transforms programming transmissions into signals that can be processed and played on older televisions. The converter box connects in between a source signal, such as a cable or satellite subscription service, and the television. Standard audio/video cables are used to connect the components. As an added convenience, converter boxes are designed to program themselves automatically with the push of a button. Unplug the converter box from the electricity then connect the coaxial cable from the signal source to the “COAX IN” jack on the back of the box.
