How do you program a uniden police scanner?
Although termed “Police Scanners,” Uniden scanners can pick up many different types of public safety radio communications, including fire, medics, road workers and more. Many public safety groups, including the police, use their own ranges of frequencies that are grouped together in “systems.” Conventional and other systems can be programmed into Uniden scanners. Programming a Uniden Police Scanner can be accomplished by following just a few steps. Enter the Uniden scanner’s Program System menu and choose “New System.” The scanner will ask you for the type of system. For example, choose “Conventional.” Confirm by tapping “Yes.” The scanner will create a default name for the system. From the Program System menu, choose the System you created in the previous step, then, from the “Edit Group” menu, choose “New Group.” The scanner will create a Channel Group.
