The SIM card is the lifeline of your phone. It stores all of your information; from contacts to messages. It also is used to quickly transfer this information from one phone to another of the same wireless provider. If your phone battery dies, you can insert the SIM card into a different phone and use it while the other charges. The calls and charges are processed as if it were your original phone. But, in order to use a new cell phone’s SIM card, it must first be activated through the service provider. Remove the SIM card from the phone if it is inserted.
