How Do You Prevent Email Signatures From Becoming Attachments?

0

At some point in an email chain, email signature images can end up as a list of file attachments. This can be very annoying. Replying or forwarding from Outlook Web Access (or other web based email clients), with your mobile phone or pda, can result in embedded images (or image email signatures) becoming file attachments. Listed below are steps to help prevent this from happening. Delete all previously embedded attachments before sending your email to prevent build-up of unnecessary attachments. In Outlook, set your email signature to only show for New Messages and not Replying / Forwarding. To do this in Outlook: Click Tools -> Options, Mail Format, click Signatures…, set the default signature setting accordingly. Use a text only signature (especially if web access is used a lot). When an email conversation gets lengthy, I delete all the image signatures to prevent annoying embed attachments from occurring and cut down on the email size.
