Tea leaf reading is a time honored tradition used all over the world to foretell the future. Also known as tasseomancy, tea leaf reading relies on divining meaning from abstract forms and symbols made by leftover tea leaves after the tea has been drunk. The process to prepare the tea itself is also important to the reading. Begin with a loose tea that you enjoy. Don’t use tea bags or a tea strainer as it will limit the workable material left in the cup for the reading. Choose a black tea or herbal loose tea that is more coarsely cut. If the tea is cut too finely, the leaves will get stuck in your teeth while you drink and don’t create enough fodder for the reading to follow.
