How Do You Prepare Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage?
A European appetizer. Wash the cabbage, pull off the outer, more wilted leaves and drain in a sieve. Afterwards, remove the core of the cabbage and chop the rest into narrow ribbons no more than 3 or 4 inches in length. Heat up the butter in a saucepan, then introduce the cabbage and stir well. Really roll the cabbage around in there. Introduce the lemon juice, caraway seeds and water, cover with a lid, sauté 1 ½ hours, then sprinkle in the brown sugar and sauté for 15 minutes more.
