How Do You Prepare Students For The TAKS Science Test?
The Texas Education Agency’s Student Assessment Division administers the TAKS test, also known as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test. Students in grades 3 through 11 take TAKS tests in subject matters that include science, social studies, reading, writing and math. The TEA administers the TAKS science test in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11. Students pass the TAKS science test by achieving a rating of “Commended Performance” or “Met the Standard.” Parents and teachers can help prepare students for the TAKS science test using information booklets, study guides and test-taking tips. Access the website for the Texas Education Agency. Locate the TAKS information booklets on the website and select the science booklet for the grade level of the student who plans to take the test.
