Whichever form of glass container you choose, there is a basic process for preparing the container for candle making. Make sure the glass jar or container is clean and dry. If you have a used jar, remove any labels or stickers before you make the candle. Decide how much wax you’ll need by determining the size of your jar. A one pound chunk of soy wax makes approximately 16 oz. of liquid wax. Pour water into the jar to the height you want the candle. Measure how many ounces of water the jar takes so you can melt that many ounces of wax. Attach a wick with silver wick tabs to the bottom of the jar with hot glue.
