How Do You Prepare Gulab Jamun ( Indian Sweets )?
Gulab Jamun is a delicious sweet / dessert with its origin from India. “Gulab” means Rose and “Jamun” means fruit, which in this case is milk, boiled down into a thick, fudge-like consistency and mixed with the slightest bit of flour to form a dough, formed into balls. In this article, I will explain step by step instructions to prepare this delicious dish. The pictures and method shown in this article is during the actual process of preparation that my mother followed. PREPARE DOUGH – Add in parts 50-60 ml (1.75 – 2 fl. oz) water to the entire contents of the “Gits” Gulab Jamun Mix and knead into a soft smooth dough. For richer Jamuns, use fresh milk instead of water. PREPARE JAMUNS – Apply unsalted butter / oil on both palms and then shape about 15 round and smooth jamuns without cracks from the dough.
